There was certainly a lot of talent and stunning attire on the red carpet at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, but one celeb stood out among the rest: Katharine McPhee. The 29-year-old starlet arrived in a blush pink Georges Hobeika gown with a sheer top, lacy floral detailing and a long trail in the back, turning heads left and right.
It wasn't just the dress that caught onlookers' attention, however: A pair of dazzling earrings were what truly stole the show. If McPhee proved one thing, it's that you don't need to don a typical black dress or a bevy of over-the-top baubles to catch some admiring stares. Pair a striking pair of glitzy earrings by fine jewelers with a gown in an unexpected color and you're sure to stand out.
McPhee has had a lot on her plate recently considering her upcoming part in the thriller "Depravity," as well as a continued starring role in the hit TV series "Smash." The Daily Mail noted that while she has played smaller parts in movies like "The House Bunny," this is her first major role on the big screen. The multi-talented star isn't stopping there, either. According to the news source, she is also in the middle of recording her fourth album, which is slated to drop later this year.
In a recent interview with the Inquirer, Katharine admitted that her journey to fame has been a long one.
"For some people, it is a rocket ship – an absolute great launch to the moon," she explained. "Mine was an interesting series of hills, valleys and mountains. All the disappointments and struggles that I have had in the last four or five years as an actress, and all the roles that I have gone out for, prepared me for something like this."
Though it has been a long road, McPhee's captivating voice and acting presence coupled with her effortlessly elegant style are bound to take her far.
