Sarah Jessica Parker earns double style points on NYC's red carpet events

Just days after the punk-themed Met Gala 2013, Sarah Jessica Parker commanded the red carpet once again in a more feminine, conservative ensemble. Though she might not have been wearing a mohawk headdress this time around, SJP still turned plenty of heads at the Tate Americas Foundation Artists Dinner in New York City May 9. Wearing a floor-length lilac-printed gown and Roger Vivier heels, Parker looked like the epitome of spring in the heart of the Big Apple.

As usual, the former "Sex and the City" star accessorized her ensemble flawlessly, wearing several colorful statement rings, two matching gold cuff bracelets and sparkly tassled earrings with long, soft waves in her hair. Whether punk or proper, Parker shines among the most fashionable crowds.

While style's important to the mother of three, Parker's top priority are her children: James Wilkie, 10, and twin daughters Tabitha and Loretta, 3. Mother's Day is just a few days away, and the proud mom isn't looking for more jewelry or clothes – she wants gifts from the heart. She told Us Weekly that handwritten letters and drawings from her kids are the best presents she could ask for. Not surprisingly, when the twins draw her pictures, it's typically of sparkly necklaces and rings.

If you've ever seen SJP and her children strolling through Manhattan together, you know that Loretta and Tabitha emulate their mother's chic style. Wearing military jackets, animal prints and cute flats, these girls are like little mini-moms, and they dress themselves!

"We tell them nothing," Parker told E! Online of her daughters' style instincts. "We just give them the temperature outside and if they don't pick enough clothing, then we say, 'You need leggings or pants. You need to add something so you'll be warm enough.'"
