Kate Hudson shines in a tasteful black gown and vintage jewels

Simple can be stunning, as Kate Hudson demonstrated at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation's 2013 Hot Pink Party Wednesday night. The blonde starlet wore a long-sleeved black gown made by – surprise – Ann Taylor, of which she's the spokesmodel. which she dressed up with gorgeous vintage jewels: diamond-shaped tiered drop earrings by Erickson Beamon and a detailed gold cuff.

'Less is more' wins
While Hudson's sexy-yet-subtle look turned heads, Liz Hurley, who appeared beside her in many photos from the evening, went a bit more glam and glitz with her ensemble, wearing a plunging, glittery pink dress and big bouncy waves in her hair. Her dress might have followed the theme of the evening, but Hudson seemed to have stolen the show with her more elegant look.

The actress with the famous smile brought her fiance, Matthew Bellamy, to whom she's been engaged for two years, to the event.

"We will get married," Hudson told Elle UK in its latest issue, of which she is the cover girl. "I do think it's important, but we have no plans. [Ryder] wants a party. For me it's not the legal part that is important, it's what it means to the family."

Daring photoshoot
Elle UK isn't the only mag that Hudson's flawless face has appeared on in recent months. The starlet also recently took the cover photo for Glamour's April issue, wearing only strings of white and black pearl necklaces. On top of her racy photoshoots, Hudson has also kept busy playing a guest role on the hit TV show, "Glee," as one of the dance teachers for Lea Michele's character, Rachel. She's also got an upcoming political thriller coming out, called "The Reluctant Fundamentalist," which will debut in select theaters April 26.

Family of fame
The beautiful actress often talks about what it's like to come from such a famous family – her mother is Goldie Hawn and the man who raised her is Kurt Russell.

"I always remember my mom saying that there's only one thing in life she refused to fail at: raising her children," she told Glamour. "It just shows you it's very possible to do the thing that makes you happy and still raise a wonderful family."

Whether she's remembered for wearing the famous canary dress and matching necklace in "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" or for taking risks on the red carpet, Hudson's beauty stands out in every role she pursues.
