Jennifer Lawrence looked nothing short of stunning when she arrived on the red carpet for the 19th Annual Screen Actors’ Guild Awards. The stunning “Silver Linings Playbook” actress donned a navy strapless Dior Haute Couture gown, a Roger Vivier clutch and a necklace full of Chopard diamonds, People magazine reports.
Not only was she on the majority of fashion critics’ best dressed lists, she was also a big winner of the night. Lawrence took home the Actor statue for Best Actress in a Film, beating out stiff competition including “Zero Dark Thirty” star Jessica Chastain. She was thrilled with the win, according to Entertainment Weekly.
“It’s incredible,” she said of winning the award. “This one is so special because it’s my peers and it’s people who I’ve looked up to since before I wanted to be an actor and [who] have inspired me. That they know who I am and that they voted for me, it’s incredible. That was a really unbelievable feeling.”
Lawrence brought a couple special guests with her to the SAG Awards – her parents. The 22-year-old actress brought Gary and Karen Lawrence with her to the show, and after she was given the award, her mother couldn’t help but gush about how proud she was of her daughter.
“I’m so proud ’cause she’s remained who she is throughout this whole process and it hasn’t changed her,” Karen told the news source. “That’s what I’m proud of. I don’t care if she wins or loses necessarily, but because she won and she’s stayed strong and true to herself, that’s what makes me proud.”
The night was not without its obstacles for the young actress. Not only did she attend with walking pneumonia, but she had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction. When she was going up to accept her award, a section of her dress moved down, showing sheer paneling. Even though many though she ripped her dress, she simply had to adjust, and it was something she didn’t even mention while accepting her award.
One thing’s for sure, her fashion choices thus far have everyone excited for what the beautiful actress will wear when she arrives at the Oscars in late February – and many are wondering whether or not she will go home with an Oscar.
