'Boy Meets World' star Rider Strong announces engagement

Rider Strong, who is known for his former role as Shawn Hunter on the family favorite "Boy Meets World," has popped the question to his longtime love. According to Us Weekly, Strong posted a picture of him and his now-fiance Alexandra Barreto on Twitter soon after they announced their good news.

Strong, 33, popped the question on Wednesday, and the two shared a picture of each other giving one another a quick peck. Strong and Barreto met while starring on the shortly-lived series, "Pepper Dennis." They also worked together on the President Barack Obama campaign video, the media outlet reports.

Not only has Strong been an actor for some time, but he is also a bit of a jeweler. According to E! Online, Strong designed the beautiful engagement ring he gave Barretto. The ring consisted of three diamonds in a unique platinum band. It is possible the actor may have found his other calling in jewelry design and rings.

Strong has been in the news recently after it was announced that there will be a spinoff to the popular 1990s sitcom in which he starred. In fact, former stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel will star in the upcoming series, "Girl Meets World." The show will surround the 13-year-old daughter, Riley, of original main characters Cory and Topanga. However, it is not confirmed whether or not Strong will be making an appearance on the show.

"At this point, I have no official involvement," Strong said in a statement. "There might be a chance to see some of the ['Boy Meets World'] cast in a guest spot, and I think it would be nice to find out where our characters have been all these years."
