Kelly Clarkson announced this past weekend that she is engaged to boyfriend Brandon Blackstock. She, like many other celebrities, turned to Twitter to spread the good news, according to People Magazine.
"I'M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y'all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever." Clarkson tweeted.
It wasn't long before she released all of the details about her beautiful – and massive – engagement ring, on the social media site. She even added a picture of the gorgeous bauble.
"Everyone has been asking about my engagement ring, so here it is," Clarkson tweeted. "It's a yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it and Brandon designed it with Johnathon Arndt! They did an amazing job!"
Clarkson also got the opportunity to show off her ring live, when she performed during the VH1 Divas event Sunday night. Before coming on stage to perform, the first performer of the night, Ellie Kemper, offered her congratulations while introducing the pop singer, according to MTV News.
"The first female diva of tonight has got all the three things a diva should always have: A big voice, big dance anthems and now a big ol' engagement ring on her hand. Please welcome to 'VH1 Divas' the newly engaged and amazingly talented Kelly Clarkson," Kemper told the audience.
However, when it comes to the wedding planning, Clarkson doesn't feel as though she is the type to go all out. In fact, she even is considering eloping with her hubby-to-be. This will be the first marriage for Clarkson and Blackstock, the son of talent manager Narvel Blackstock, who is married to Reba McEntire.
Clarkson wasn't the only starlet to get engaged this past weekend. In fact, famed tattoo artist Kat Von D will soon be planning a wedding with electronic music star Deadmau5. He also turned to Twitter not only to announce the engagement, but to ask for Von D's hand in marriage. Even though it wasn't the most private of moments, Von D quickly accepted.
Deadmau5, whose real name is Joel Thomas Zimmerman, tweeted, "I can't wait for Christmas so… Katherine Von Drachenberg, will you marry me?"
Clarkson wasn't the only one to post a picture of engagement rings. He later tweeted a picture of the engagement ring, which was complete with two skulls on either side of what will be a black diamond and explained it wasn't quite finished yet.
