Jewelry adds native feel to the fall season

Different styles of accessories are popular during certain seasons. For example, shell- and sea-inspired pieces are usually very trendy during the warm-weather months. This fall, many jewelry experts think that southwestern and Native American styles are going to fly off the shelves.

Industry veterans predict that turquoise, silver and coral, all of which are often accents to many Native American accessories, will be particularly trendy this fall. Moreover, Marie Claire Magazine said that burgundy, navy and black may also be trendy in upcoming months.

Because of a heightened interest in culture, many jewelry designers are responding with new pieces that have a vintage feel and feature the traditional colorful jewels. A lot of southwest-inspired accessories were front and center during New York's Fashion Week events.

Elsewhere, other celebrities have been spotted sporting turquoise inlaid pieces, a southwest jewelry trend. This style has been seen on both men and women, from male singer Rudy Parris's blue rings on reality show "The Voice" to Heidi Klum's necklace on the 2012 Golden Globes red carpet.

Earrings, bracelets and bangles are also pieces that can often incorporate the soft stone, which must be cared for carefully.
